WHO, ME?
Since the ripe ole age of 7, I would perform impressions from the likes of Pavaroti to the Grinch for my family. And let me tell you, I would COMMIT to the bit. Even going so far as accidentally knocking a wine glass out of my mom's hand and getting stitches on Christmas Eve Eve. My "world was the stage" as my grandmother used to put it, but I didn't stand under a proscenium until I was a freshman in high school. When I stood up to audition for a solo in choir, everyone started laughing, "oh this is going to be hilarious," thinking I was going to make a joke. I guess you could say it was a real Susan Boyle moment for everyone. I blacked out a little, but a "Holy shit" from one my classmates brought me back to reality. And, the rest is history! Not really, but I don't wanna bore you with all the other stuff. They say there's nothing better than making other people laugh, but I like to throw 'cry' in the rink. For me, performing is about presenting pure, honest humanity that is relatable, thought provoking, and entertaining. If the audience doesn't feel something, I'm not doing my job.
